We are a collective of advocates, yoga teachers, artists, therapists, lawyers, religious leaders, teachers, psychologists and activists committed to the emotional/mental health and healing of Black communities.
We envision a world where there are no barriers to Black healing.
BEAM is a 501 (c)(3) organization. Our mission is to remove the barriers that Black people experience getting access to or staying connected with emotional health care and healing. We do this through education, training, advocacy and the creative arts.
More on our mission: 1. Training - We create trainings and workshops that teach social justice informed mental health designed by and for Black communities.2. Advocacy- We actively organize, support policies and partner with institutions and movements that advocate for better mental and emotional health care for Black Communities. 3. Art-Based Activism - We believe in healing through therapy, art, dance, music, yoga, and other necessary tools. We also support and fund artistic projects that foster discussion and education on mental and emotional health in Black communities.
