Novella Moffitt, MS, NCC

I am a Florida Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern with Sonshine Counseling. I have a Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Troy University and a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Psychology from The University of West Florida. I am also a National Certified Counselor. I have experience providing mental health counseling to pre-teens, teens, adults, and couples. Issues typically addressed include depression, anxiety, behavioral issues, parenting, relationship issues, trauma, and transition issues. I have completed Level 1 and Level 2 training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy. I also have experience facilitating Women's Anger Management Groups, Men's Anger Management Groups, Substance Abuse Groups, Anxiety Groups, and Adolescent groups. My therapeutic approach integrates multiple theoretical frameworks such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and reality therapy, based on each clients' individually voiced goals in treatment. I strive to develop a therapeutic relationship consisting of trust, compassion, and collaboration in an effort to create an environment in which healing, self-discovery, and growth can occur. I have a passion for working with individuals who have experienced trauma, intense anxiety, and career confusion. In my leisure time, I enjoy spending time with my family, drawing, painting, and yoga.
